On November 4th, the historic Paris Agreement will officially enter into force with more than 55 countries accounting for 55% of global emissions joining the Agreement.  Reaching this momentous milestone at such a rapid pace is remarkable, but even more remarkable is the work already happening on the ground in cities around the world to ensure a successful fight against climate change.

New kit tested as part of major flood response exercise

Environment Agency teams across England are training with new temporary flood barriers, pumps, vehicles, and drones as part of Exercise Certus, which reached its climax last week. Teams from the Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire office in Warrington are testing the local response, using real time data, practicing our winter readiness and using real-life scenarios to replicate how a flooding incident plays out.
