Representatives from the GMCA Environment Team, scooped up the ‘Regional Council or Local Authority Body of the Year’ at the North West Energy Efficiency Awards 2025 for the second year running!
Taking place at The Last Drop Village Hotel and Spa, Bolton (8th May), the award rewards “one exceptional council that has shown a true commitment to promoting energy efficiency within its region. It recognises the efforts of that council and its service to its local community.”
This award would not have been possible without the support and hard work of all the GMCA Retrofit Team’s many partners over the past two years helping to improve energy efficiency and tackling fuel poverty across Greater Manchester for residents.
This has included:
- 35,386 residents provided with in-person advice through Feel The Benefit
- Retrofitting over 3,800 homes through the Local Energy Advice Demonstrator project and Your Home Better service
- Retrofitting over 4,000 homes through the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund projects
- Retrofitted 1,119 homes occupied by residents on a low income and 2,700 homes occupied by residents with health conditions through our ECO4 LA-Flex scheme and much more…
Energy efficient home upgrades can help to provide a comfy home, tackle many health issues and lower residents’ bills. Greater Manchester residents can check their eligibility online on GMCA’s eligibility checker, entering details about their home and circumstances to find out what support they might be eligible to receive.
Finally, thank you to Next Energy UK for the nomination and recognition #NWEnergyEfficiencyAwards
