We are delighted to announce that for a third consecutive year, GMCA will be hosting Green Summit 2020 – “Greater Manchester Goes Green”.

Due to the current restrictive circumstances, and to ensure the safety of everyone involved, the event will be a virtual format this year.

The programme commences on Monday 21st September and takes place over four days, with the final day focusing on Green Recovery on Thursday 24th September.  Once again the event has the full support of the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, who will be overseeing proceedings.

This year, the event has been planned and co-produced with the GM Youth Combined Authority, ensuring that we address the climate concerns of all GM citizens, especially those of young people.  The new ‘virtual’ format of the event provides the opportunity to curate content from even more of the Green City region partners and ‘family’, which we hope will appeal to a wider audience in the region.

Planning for the event is well underway, with content being produced not only from the YCA, but the many organisations involved in delivery of the Five Year Environment Plan, ensuring we update you on our action so far and our next steps.   We’ve also invited our extended Greater Manchester family to produce ‘Spotlight Sessions’, content which we hope will entertain and enlighten and inspire.  One advantage of going virtual is that it also ensures creation of a legacy of all sessions produced for people to view and use at a later date.
