Cracking Good Food is a not-for-profit social enterprise. They launched in 2010, with the aim of encouraging and supporting more people to cook affordable, seasonal and nutritious homemade food from scratch.
Driven by a belief that EVERYONE deserves good food, their mission is simple: to work collaboratively with others to increase food security, social eating and wellbeing via good food, especially amongst communities side-lined by poverty and other complex disadvantages in Greater Manchester and beyond. Over to Cracking Good Food to explain more about their work…
Working with food banks, pantry schemes and affordable food clubs to share affordable and accessible cooking skills, we are hosting an event to redistribute pre-loved kitchen equipment sourced from our recent ‘Kitchen Kit Call Out’ campaign.
We are currently busy collecting pre-loved kitchen kit from across Greater Manchester for redistribution to community organisations – everything from cups to colanders, mixing bowls to microwaves, baking tins to toasters and all available for FREE. You can’t cook Cracking Good Food without basic kitchen kit!
If your community organisation and service users would benefit from FREE kitchenware such as crockery, cooking accessories and small electrical appliances we would like to invite you to come along to our event taking place between 12 noon and 3pm on Wednesday 19 June at University Academy 92 in Trafford.
All donations are cleaned, safety checked and PAT tested (as necessary) before the event. So far almost 7 tonnes of kit has been redistributed, to 113 organisations, saving over 80 tonnes of embodied carbon emissions from landfill.
We would like to ensure that all the kitchen equipment is shared equally, each organisation will be allocated the same number of tickets to exchange for electrical and higher value items, also only two people from each organisation will be allowed entry to the collection area.
Places are limited, if you would like to attend please complete the sign-up form HERE as soon as possible to guarantee your place.
