Join thousands of runners, walkers, wheelers and cyclists passing the Relay baton on its epic journey from Ben Nevis to Big Ben. Help deliver the message in the baton calling for action to cut emissions, restore nature, and support those hardest hit by climate change.
The Running Out of Time Climate Relay launches at Ben Nevis before undertaking an extraordinary 2436 km journey through 50 cities and towns to Big Ben. Comprising 210 stages and 80+ visits to climate and nature projects, sporting bodies and venues, schools, events and iconic locations – it’s set to be the most spectacular Climate Relay yet.
The Relay aims to raise awareness, inspire action and celebrate great climate work across the country and is partnering with a wide range of climate campaigns, projects and events; sporting bodies; and local Councils. It’s also visiting 50 schools along the route.
It features famous sporting venues; stunning natural sites; schools; universities; community projects; music, fashion & climate events. And a host of different and eye-catching ways to move the baton which will be run, walked, cycled, swum, paddled, triathloned, sailed, skied, para-glided and wake boarded along the way!
The relay will be in Greater Manchester on the 14th and 15th June and organisers are keen to have lots of people involved on the different legs across the city. With the stages ranging from 1 to 12km, there’s something for everyone.

Additional Information for Relay Participants
Entrance Fee – This year we’re adopting a ‘pay what you want‘ approach. There’s no pressure to pay – everyone is welcome and the more people who take part, the more impact we’ll all have. However, we are a group of volunteers and have substantial costs to cover. So, if anyone is able to pay an entrance fee, then thank you!
Multiple Stages – As long as you’re logged in, you can quickly register for additional stages for free.
Local Knowledge – Stage routes have been created using Strava data on popular running / cycling / walking routes. However, nothing beats local knowledge so please don’t hesitate to let us know if something doesn’t look right.
It should be exciting, epic and inspirational, please sign up now at https://running-out-of-time.com/
