Join the Next Cohort of Pupil-Led Sustainability Projects

Are you ready to make a positive impact on your school’s community?

After a successful first year of the Eco Grants for Schools programme, GMCA is very excited to announce a second round of funding, providing the opportunity for many more pupil-led sustainability projects across Greater Manchester.

Last year, 27 schools and colleges were awarded funding through the programme. We have seen a summer of food growing and cooking, composting, and uniform and fashion swap shops, among many other great projects rolling out and continuing in their school communities.

Bringing Eco Projects to Life

We are now inviting applications from schools and colleges for grants of up to £2,000. We want to see projects that inspire small acts of positive climate action and sustainable behaviour change focused on:

  • Waste Reduction and Circular Economy – Fashion, Textiles or Plastics
  • Education on Sustainable Lifestyles through Key Life Skills
  • Sustainable Food and Tackling Food Waste

For full details of what projects are covered and how to apply, please visit:
The Greater Manchester Eco Grants For Schools Programme

The grants will help young people bring their eco project ideas to life, reducing waste, developing skills, and increasing understanding of how making small changes can really help the environment.

Schools and colleges will be able to trial and deliver sustainable lifestyle projects over the course of a year, enriching the curriculum and giving pupils the opportunity to work through the many stages of delivering a tangible, local project they can be proud of.

APPLY FOR A GRANT OF UP TO £2000

The application link for funding is now open, the closing date is Friday 19th December 2024, or until we receive 50 eligible applications.
